Our dear friend Emanuel came to visit us with his fiance'! Really, he has an amazing heart and we are so happy God gave him a special woman. We took some time sharing with them about our simple beginning's both in the US and here in Burundi. At one point we only had a few plastic plates, a pitcher for juice, and a few other small utensils; and now... the Lord has blessed us. We told him, if you can accept to have a simple beginning and look past the expectations of others, you will be at peace and be happy.
Our little "big family" growing little by little. This picture was taken after the children received some clothes donated from some friends... what a fun time to experience with them. It was like Christmas if that comparison even would match up. The children are on holidays now and some are visiting extended family members. A precious time it is.
As for us. We have been very busy with everyday life. Malaki hit 11 months yesterday, welcoming his tiny little 7th tooth. Stretching out lately and growing as we see more and more of his character. Hesitant at times to go with others, and other times opened armed going to strangers... sometimes I wonder what his little mind is thinking when everywhere we go people are staring at him. They stare, maybe because they don't see a baby his color to often... who knows? Anyhow, he loves it. Sometimes he starts laughing, giggling or trying to talk to them saying "Gagagagaga"!
He loves to be outside, especially lately, we have spent alot of time at our land planning things out. Yesterday as I was in the midst of the trees with him, I stood in silence and could only hear the wind rustling against the trees and some birds chirping in the distance. Isai was leading me around the land with excitement saying, "the children's houses go here! the clinic over there! come here for a minute, this is where our porch will be, isn't the view beautiful! ... the soccer field over there!" Really, he was excited as we were envisioning what will be in the near future. The spirit of God came down and just reminded me that in this place a community will be transformed, a people, a nation, will never be the same again. We hired our first security for the land in Bukeye until we are able to get a military soldier from the government in the near future who will help us watch the materials as we are building. Really, its been a busy, but rewarding time for our family lately. God is moving...! All our love...

Our little "brown eyes" holding onto the steel bars that enclose our house. He's growing into a precious, strong willed little boy; it has been a sweet time for us as his parents. In the midst of our days being filled with so many demands, we are doing our best to just sit back and simply enjoy him and his daily changes. Our friend recently gave us a walker for babies and boy does he love this thing. In freedom, he charges the house. To the left, to the right, he's all over the place. To his (and our) benefit, we didn't have to do any baby proofing as our house is pretty simple with not to many things lying around. At times, we put him out on the porch with the dogs in his walker... A funny scene it is, having a baby chasing 2 big Rottweiler mixes around the porch! If you could only imagine this! Just know, we miss and love you all greatly and in a time we will all be together again. Surely the Lord knows. All our love...

Beautiful moments in the past days. God is doing miracles, both with the children and for our organization... and our family too. Faithful is He. As I was walking around our property today with Tonny (3) and Jimmy (5), I was praying "Jesus, come", "transform our children"... And Tonny, copying after me "Jeesssuuss, Comeeeee"! We walked together, declaring our homes a place of refuge, a place of hope, a place where God will come down and prepare his people for the return of His Son, Jesus. Declaring Jeremiah 29:11.
